Should every run be hard?

Runner: "Every run has to be HARD"🥵

A common error we see in recreational runners is doing too much of their running at a high intensity.

The problems with this approach include:

🥵Faster running is more taxing on the body: load increases across all joints, muscles & tendons involved in running. This means it takes longer to recover from faster runs, and can contribute to injury

🥵Doing all your runs at a higher intensity means you miss out on some of the key physiological benefits that come with slower, low-intensity running.

🔑So whilst there is certainly a place for fast running, a properly structured training program should mostly consist of easy-paced runs.

👋Runners, share this with your running friends who run too fast too often!
