How to prepare for running in winter

Writer's picture: Luke NelsonLuke Nelson

The first day of winter means it’s time to prepare for the cold and wet running season!

As Sir Ranuph Fiennes said… "There’s no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing"

Don’t let the annual change in weather disrupt your training…

Here are 3 ways to keep up with running all through winter:

🔑Wear many layers to keep you warm. As you need to take layers off, you can tie your extra layers around your waist

🔑Lay out your clothes the night before and jump out of bed as soon as your alarm goes off. That way you get going before your brain has a chance to think twice! Don’t forget a headlight too

🔑Remind yourself that rain is only water, and if you don’t get wet during the run, it’ll happen afterwards anyway when you shower. Dress appropriately so you get wet, but not too cold!

Share with a friend who always overdresses in the cold :P
